Elizabeth Reaser has a career as an American film, television and theatre actor. Her most well-known role is The Twilight Saga (film), Greys Anatomy (series) as well as True Detective. After having read the script Jessica knew that the role will require training in weapons, and recorded her first class by an experienced instructor. Jonathan Glassner stated that they were awestruck by Jessica's performance in her initial training session. The Outpost is her first significant film in the US because her earlier films were filmed located in Australia. Jessica can portray her powerful female character because of her passion for action, mixed martial arts abilities and her riding horse, weapons and firearms skills, and her athletic ability. She learned boxing, muay Thai and is a member of a mixed martial arts gym in Australia. Jake Stormoen was working on Season 4 of the show and was in the process of meeting a dog who was wandering around the sets. This dog turned out to belong to an entire litter of puppies who were able to take housing in the sets. Jessica fostered at least two of these pups.
